Solar charging works great. I make or receive phone calls only for 10 minutes a week and I don’t need to take it home to charge it any more. Once you register your cell phone (I have an iPhone 3G), it is automatically connected when you get in the car. The large button is easy to press so I never miss a call while I am driving since I got this one. Sound quality is good enough for conversation. Rating: 5 / 5

I bought the Anycom last year when it was a Gold Box item and was really a great deal. Because it was so cheap, I really didn’t expect much of it. I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I can even use it on city streets with my convertible top down. I haven’t tried it top-down on a highway, simply I have to crank the stereo really loud to hear it with the top down on expressways, so I know there’s no way to hear any kind of speakerphone. The solar recharge is amazing. The only time I’ve had to charge it with a cord is when I let it run down completely and was worried about how long it would take to build up a charge with the solar panel. Rating: 5 / 5

I have been using this product for 4 weeks now and I should say I did not have any issues like others did on the solar charging side. Infact I have mounted my device on my moon roof in my Honda Accord and it works like a charm. The roof can slide in and out without hitting any thing in its path. It’s that thin. Besides I now don’t have to worry about gadget thieves breaking into my car when parked. I pull the moon roof slide inside my car and its out of vision. Even through the tinted moon roof, It gets enough light when I park at my work place. I speak for more than an hour a day to and fro on my commute and the battery stays at full charge. (I check the battery status by hitting the volume control buttons and it always beeps four times = >7hours of talk time)
Aright.. what’s the part I did not like much?? of course the way too complicated features access with just two buttons (although I don’t care for any more features other than call receive, flash and transfer the blue tooth connection back to my phone on bad roads..which is easy and I am fine). The sound quality is great, noise cancellation works, but I wanted this unit to output a little more sound. Even at the highest volume setting and the fact that the unit is so close to my ears on my moon roof, I can still barely hear and have to strain my ears to understand the conversation. Its partly because of bad CA roads too. On 680 and 880, there are many spots where I have to strain my ears to hear. On little quite and well paved road this is not a problem (ex: 880N just after airport the stretch is quite). Also I guess if you have a heavier car with less road noise this will not be an issue too. Anycom should have designed it with this in consideration. (not all will drive lexus or high end very quite cars!!! nor will consider changing cars for blue tooth
. Having said that on my other mini-van with integrated blue tooth the issue is noise cancellation doesn’t work as good as it does on this unit.
Besides that its a wonderful unit and I love it. So I decided to live with it and suggest Anycom to
A) Increase the speaker output to 2W+ on the new product
B) Include a FM transmitter feature so that we can use the car radio instead. Just this feature can make it perfect.

The idea is great. The solar charging works great. But the volume, both to and from the device, needs to be able to go a lot louder. As it is, you have to have the windows up and the stereo off to have a conversation. Beyond that, it’s a great product. Rating: 3 / 5

Check the compatibility with your phone first.
Long as your phone is in the list, it is a must device in your car.
No cord, always on, no hassile to recharge, voice dialing, instant answering without looking for your phone…. great device. Rating: 5 / 5
