I have 2 major complaints with this toy:

    1) It requires a ton of light to run. I do not have a single room bright enough to run the toy. If you want to play with this, it must be outside. I find it sort of ironic that to run this “green” toy, you need to have multiple lights running the least efficient bulbs around. Even in a room with multiple lights (10 bulbs in about 200 sq foot) plus 2 mag lights pointed directly at it was not enough light.

    2) While the engine and solar panel appear to be solid enough, the car portion is just paper. It is very flimsy and almost not heavy enough to balance it while on the string.

You should only get this if your kid is really into putting things together, and even then, you are probably better off with a normal model car. Rating: 1 / 5

I have purchased the toy for my 5 years old daughter. The assembly requires an adult, but afterwards the toy is easily managed by a child.

You need quite a sunny day to have the cable car working at full speed and I would recommend the toy for outdoor use or sunny places.

The toy is great as it introduces the young ones to the solar energy. You can also leave it running unattended. Rating: 5 / 5
