PLYMOUTH, MAâ¦
Earlier this year, Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac was named a green partner of Plymouth Rock Studios. So, itâs probably not a huge surprise that the winner of Tracyâs Driven Student for January is Plymouth North High Schoolâs Green Team.
The Plymouth North High School Green Team is a group of students and teachers working on ways to conserve energy and projects that will beautify the North campus. The groupâs first initiative, assembling and installing insulation units for the windows of the school has already helped Plymouth North save around $400 in heating costs for the month of December.
To help celebrate this accomplishment and the students efforts in making Plymouth North a âgreenerâ operation, Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac treated Green Team members to a pizza party. Students and teachers recognized for their work with the Green Team include: Edwin Pena, John Coughlin, Lauren Foley, Rose Kelly, Derrell Elliott, and Sean McNulty (students); Mario Cedrone, Don Ivas, Mike Bastonin, Emerson Coleman (teachers).
âChevrolet and Cadillac have both made a very conscious effort to build hybrid vehicles and other automobiles with greater fuel efficiency to reduce emissions that could damage the environment. So, itâs quite fitting that we give the âDriven Studentâ award to Plymouth Northâs Green Team, people who are also doing their part to make Plymouth greener,â said Jeff Tracy, president of Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac.
âAgain, we canât thank Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac for recognizing the efforts of the Green Team. This is a new program thatâs literally just getting started and already making an impact on the school, with much more to come. I canât think of a more deserving group for the award or the pizza party,â said Derek Thompson, Green Team advisor.
Tracy Chevrolet Cadillacâs Driven Student program recognizes Plymouth high school students for their performance and achievements in and out of the classroom. Awarded on a monthly basis, recipients are selected by faculty and advisors at the studentâs given school.
